Action Space EARTH:LIFE
Nature, Art and Philosophy - an interdisciplinary project for the future of the earth
At the beginning of the 21st century, planet Earth is sick. Climate change, pollution, species extinction, land use and forest fires testify to the fact that man's relationship to nature has nature has reached an impasse. The continued existence of human civilization is in question in the face of the global nature crisis. The symptoms point to the "end of nature" as we know it. Not only our livelihood, but also beauty is being lost. Our relationship with the earth must change. Scientists from the World Biodiversity Council (2019) recommend. "comprehensive action at all levels of society." So far, people want to protect nature with economic control mechanisms, with political regulations and laws. But the climate change requires a change in consciousness. Aktionsraum ERDEN:LEBEN is an interdisciplinary project of transformation on the relationship between man and nature. We need a "new enlightenment" (Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Club of Rome, 2019), which wants to transcend the rationalistic subjugation of nature and the destruction of the biosphere toward a new way of feeling and thinking. Nature is a mystery and unavailable in its depth. Aktionsraum ERDEN:LEBEN addresses itself to actors of change, to people who are holistically to the social protagonists of a cultural change. It is a platform for cooperation and partnerships from culture, politics, economy and science. The core idea is, is that (1) the artistic practice of an aesthetics of nature and (2) the philosophical discourse on the relationship between humans and nature should complement each other. As long as the global nature crisis is based on terms like "sustainability", "economic efficiency" and "climate function", nature dies already in the language. "In essence, of course, I was only interested in convincing that art should be considered the real basis for all social activity, that the concept of aesthetics must therefore be understood more broadly. must be defined more broadly." (Joseph Beuys) - In the purposelessness of art lies its exemplary character for the dealing with nature. In 3 action spaces the contribution for the future of the earth is to be realized: - Actions with artists: Poetic interventions - Aesthetic, transformational processes - Images of transition. - Philosophical discourse: Lectures, symposia and seminars on a "new enlightenment" and on a philosophy of nature - Workshops for aesthetic practice: Experiential space of nature - deceleration - perceptual exercises with paint and drawing pencil.
