Sekante Kollektiv

The collective "Sekante" sees itself as an interdisciplinary art and culture collective, which, as the name suggests, tries to find interfaces, to connect and to create spaces for a variety of artistic, political and sociological contents.
The purpose of these spaces is not to make a profit, but to offer artists a stage and an audience where they can develop freely.
We are motivated by the love of art and creative work, especially in a collaborative sense, the expression of sensuality, the political urgency of some topics, as well as the interest in exchange.
The space we would like to create should, through various interactions, create both added value for the public (experiencing sensuality, engaging with content we curate) and added value for our artists and collectives.
We further see a great value in the learning process in relation to collective processes that arises through this involvement. Learning from each other and gaining an insight into the working methods of others is an asset for everyone.
It is particularly important to the collective "Sekante" that this collaborative space is free of any sexism, xenophobia and racism. We hope create an environment in which we bring together different interdisciplinary collectives, scenes and individual artists.
As an intersectional feminist collective, we value diversity, both in organizational structures and in the selection of artists. For us, inclusion is not only a self-evident ethical principle, but also a nurturing ground for our concept to generate the broadest possible spectrum of influences.
As a consequence of our anti-discriminatory self-image and the claim to build spaces with an added value, it is important for us to offer structurally disadvantaged groups a voice in order to initiate a social discourse on a small scale.
